Rex autem Avares sepenumero insurgentes expulit. Et cum in uno dierum hos inpari congressu ledere temptaret, victus in urbem, quae Bichni vocatur, fugit; ibique mortis periculum evadens, urbanos maiori gloria, quam hactenus haberent vel comprovinciales hodie teneant, et ad haec muneribus dignis honorat.

Der König trieb die wiederholt sich erhebenden Avaren aus dem Reiche. Und als er einstmals mit nicht genügender Mannschaft sie anzugreifen wagte, ward er geschlagen und floh in eine Stadt , Namens Bichni [Püchau]. Weil er dort dem Tode entrann, so verlieh er den Bürgern derselben größere Vorrechte als deren sie sich bisher erfreut hatten und dergleichen ihre Landesgenossen bis zum heutigen Tag nicht haben, und beschenkte sie außerdem noch reichlich.
