English: Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
“Chunk Geyser” (a.k.a. “Piston Geyser”) is a small geyser just off the southwestern side of the Spasmodic Geyser complex. Chunk and Spasmodic Geysers are part of the Sawmill Group in Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. When inactive, Chunk Geyser is dry and quiet. When active, it has a column of water that frequently rises and falls in its vent, somewhat like a piston.
