Summary[edit]

Description
Français : Cimetière St-Charles
English: Near the entrance to the Saint-Charles cemetery in Québec, Quebec, Canada. To the left of the photo stands the mausoleum built in Italy circa 1832 for Napoléon II. Napoléon II died in 1832. However, he was buried in Vienna. This Italian mausoleum remained unused. It was bought in 1866 by banker and businessman William Venner, who had it transported to Québec to be used by his family. The mausoleum is in the Corinthian style. In its center originally stood a marble statue of a Greek goddess, which could not resist the cold climate and was replaced by a Christian statue in bronze.
