"Great Scott! A knife that cuts trees." Filming a 1968 Quikut knife commercial.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: In 1968, the Quikut Corporation added spot television to their marketing effort and hired Cinecraft Productions, a sponsored film studio in Cleveland, Ohio, to make a series of Quikut TV spots. Cinecraft was chosen because they had pioneered early made-for-TV filmed commercials, including the first made-for-TV filmed infomercial – a 30-minute commercial for the Natural Foods Institute promoting the Vitamix blender. The cameraman is Harry Horrocks. Ray Culley, the director of the commercial, is holding the saw.
Date
Source The non-copyrighted studio production photo was part of a large collection of films, scripts, and photos my family and Cinecraft Productions, a motion picture studio my mother and father started in 1939, donated to the Hagley Library (Hagley.org). When my father died, he left the photograph to my brothers and me. We donated it to Hagley under a non-exclusive donation agreement.
Author Photographer employed by Cinecraft Productions. Probably Ed Perry.
