Description Cladonia floerkeana (Fr.) Flörke, 1828 (photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope (x20) showing podetia covered with coarsely granular soredia) Growing on bark of a conifer in open woods, near Crumley Creek, off US-68, Cheboygan County, Michigan, USA; collected and identified by Richard E. Riefner (No. 81-457, 14 Jul 1981); specimen is now in the Lichen Herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden.
