Description
The Chelsea porcelain factory, in what is now London, was England's most important ceramic manufactory in the mid-18th century. Large tureens in the form of chickens or rabbits have long been recognized as outstanding products of this factory. The condition of Cleveland's amusing hen with her chicks is particularly good. The tureen was recently united with a stand of the same design as one originally intended to accompany it.
