Summary[edit]

Description
English: Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.

Cliff Geyser is the largest frequently-erupting geyser in the Black Sand Basin of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. It is located on the western bank of Iron Spring Creek and is separated from the stream by a ~1.5 meter tall cliff of geyserite. Cliff Geyser has a semicircular basin that is about 10 x 15 meters in size. The basin can be empty, partially filled, or overflowing with water. Eruptive activity occurs at low-pool stage, high-pool stage, and at an overflowing, full pool stage. Spouting can reach an estimated 30 to 50 feet high.
