Summary[edit]

Description
English: A New York State Historical Marker mounted on a stone pillar at the top of the stairs that go down to Otsego Lake in the Council Rock Park at the intersection of Lake and River Streets in the village of Cooperstown in the town of Otsego, New York. The text of the marker reads, "CLINTON'S DAM. Dam opened August 9, 1779, 2000 men and 200 batteaux went down the Susquehanna. N.Y.S. Historical Marker 1928."
