Deutsch: Marienhafe war eines der größten Dörfer im Brookmerland. Die Arme zeigen den Adler der Familie Tom Brok. Der untere Teil der Arme zeigt die kurzen Eimer, die aus den Armen von Klaus Störtebeker stammen (= kurzer Eimer). Seit 1396 war Marienhafe ein Zufluchtsort für die Vitalienbrüder, eine religiöse Gruppe, deren Führer Klaus Störtebeker war. Der Anker symbolisiert den freien Zugang zum Hafen unter dem Schutz der Familie Tom Brok. English: Marienhafe was one of the largest villages in the Brookmerland.The arms show the eagle of the Tom Brok family. The lower part of the arms show the short buckets derived from the arms of Klaus Störtebeker (= short bucket). Since 1396 Marienhafe was a refuge for the Vitalienbrüder, a religious group, whose leader was Klaus Störtebeker. The anchor symbolises the free access to the harbour under protection of the Tom Brok family. |
