Description Five men (John Higgins, Frank Lloyd, Frank Powell, Patrick Wilshaw and William Duggan) lost their lives on 12th December 1942 when their pilot boat got caught by the propellors of the Irish Poplar. Both the harbour launch and the pilot boat were lost.
