Description
Español: Cocio, tinajón o tintero. Gran vasija similar a las tinajas, pero de boca más abierta, base plana y estable, boca decorada con digitaciones, y dos asas u orejas enfrentadas; su característica diferenciadora estriba en el orificio o pitorro de desagüe. Para diferentes usos en procesos de decantación (como el blanqueado de ropa con ceniza), separación del aceite del agua caliente durante el prensado de la aceituna, etc. Medidas: 61 cm de altura con dos diámetros: 59 cm (boca) y 31 cm (base). Fábrica del siglo XIX y procedencia desconocida dentro del territorio español. Adquirida por Diego Agulo, investigador y catedrático, especialista en la obra de Bartolome Esteban Murillo, con destino a la reproducción de la Casa de Murillo en Sevilla. English: Cooked, large earthen jar or Inkwell. Great vessel similar to the jars, but more open mouth, flat base and stable, mouth decorated with fingerings, and two handles or ears facing each other; its distinguishing feature is the hole or drain spout. For different uses in processes of settlement (such as bleaching of linen with ash), hot water oil separation during pressing of the olives, etc.Size: 61 cm in height with two diameters: 59 cm (mouth) and 31 cm (base). Factory of the 19th century and origin unknown within the Spanish territory. Acquired by Diego Agulo, researcher and Professor, specialist in the works of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, bound for the reproduction of the Casa de Murillo in Seville.
