Description
Deutsch: Ein Weibchen der Fledermaus-Azurjungfer (Coenagrion pulchellum) im Ahlenmoor, nördliches Niedersachsen. Zusätzlich zu der großen Varianz im Zeichnungsmuster des weiblichen Coenagrion pulchellum, tritt dieses in zwei Farbvarianten auf, hier die seltenere grün-blaue, statt der reinblauen Färbung. Ein eindeutiges Bestimmungsmerkmal ist die starke, W-förmige Einbuchtung am Hinterrand des Pronotums.
English: A female of the Variable Damselfly (Coenagrion pulchellum) in the Ahlenmoor, a peatland in northern Lower Saxony, Germany. In addition to the large variance in the drawing pattern of the female Coenagrion pulchellum, this occurs in two color options, here the rare green-blue, instead of the pure blue color. A unique feature for determination is the deeply incised, W-bordered pronotum, which is arched in a characteristic shape.
Note from Charlesjsharp This is not a rare form, it colouring typical of a young adult.
