| Description |
English: Built in 1896 and renovated circa 1900, this Classical Revival-style apartment building was designed by Boughton and Johnson, with a first floor retail addition having altered the character of the front facade of the building substantially. The building features a painted brick exterior, decorative stone trim, cornices, low-slope roofs with parapets, iron balconies on the taller northern portion with decorative railings, replacement windows, fanlight transoms in the two center bays of the second and fourth floors, and a first floor retail addition with a stone facade featuring ionic pilasters and a rooftop deck with wrought iron railings, as well as large storefronts, and an entrance to the apartments with an arched opening and recessed porch. The building has since become one of several properties branded as the Goldwynn Aparments. The building is a contributing structure in the Allentown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. |
