Description

Nov. 28, 2017; FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, M.D and center Director Jeffrey E. Shuren, M.D tour labs at the agency's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) in Silver Spring, MD.


More healthcare-associated outbreaks have been linked to contaminated endoscopes than any other medical device. Here, Dr. Scott Phillips describes a method developed by the CDRH Office of Science and Engineering Laboratories (OSEL) to rapidly test the cleanliness of scopes in a hospital setting.
