Description Lithograph, entitled "The Lord Mayor and Mayoress's conversazione (literature and art) at the Mansion House". This conversazione was ostensibly an opportunity for learned discourse, but downstairs in the Egymptian Hall, among a crowd of thousands, the works of art could do little more than impress the numerous VIP guests, and the crowd was entertained by the band of the Coldstream Guards. The educational models and apparatus were upstairs and attracted much interest, but again no discussions, lectures or reading of papers were mentioned.
