heritage-listed house in Chipping Norton, New South Wales

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cooloola is a heritage-listed house at 2-4 Epsom Road in Chipping Norton, New South Wales. This site consists of a single storey detached red-brick bungalow on the SE corner of Macquarie Drive and Epsom Road. The house has an asymmetrical front façade with a main gabled roof of dark terracotta tiles. The roof extends over a verandah that runs along half of the front façade. It has a flat roof of corrugated iron and is supported by posts with decorative iron brackets and valance. The remainder of the front façade consists of a triple hipped street-facing front projection with slightly curving bay windows.

The house demonstrates the rural history of the area and the transition from rural to urban development, and is associated with the Franklin family who were early settlers in the area.It is currently used as a dental surgery.
