Summary[edit]

Description
English: Historical marble memorial at the south end of the divider of Cooper Square East and Front Street (former NYS Route 102) in the Village of Hempstead, New York. Cooper Square is the Village's local municipal parking lot across the street from the historic Hempstead Town Hall, and around east and north sides of Saint George's Episcopal Church. The parking lot and the streets associated with it are named for local inventor and philanthropist Peter Cooper (1791-1883) and merchant,village treasurers and fire chief Edward Cooper (1839-1920).
