Description
English: Built in 1908, this Arts and Crafts-style house was designed by Claude and Starck for Cornelius Collins, and his wife, Anna Collins. The house is clad in red brick with a side-gable roof, stucco cladding on the gable ends with half-timbering, exposed rafter tails, and wooden brackets, six windows on the second floor of the front facade flanked by octagonal and square doric pilasters, with a sill featuring brackets at the ends underneath the windows, a front porch with brick columns, low walls, stone trim, a shed roof, and decorative trim, double-hung windows with leaded glass sash, two front entrance doors, a two-story bay window on the southeast facade with limestone trim, and a two-story partially enclosed rear sun porch. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, owing to its architectural significance, and is a contributing structure in the Fourth Lake Ridge Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
