Summary

[edit]
Description

Summer is always hot in New York, and MTA New York City Transit takes the brutal summer heat very seriously. In preparation, the Department of Subways steps up maintenance of HVAC systems in cars and prepares other electronic equipment throughout the system , including staging emergency response equipment like trucks and generators, lubricating critical mechanical equipment, monitoring rails and outdoor infrastructure, keeping a close eye on power levels and coordinating with Con Edison for peak load management.
