Extrait de l'article de Carine Juvin, Les objets inscrits de département des Arts de l'Islam - Un projet d'étude épigraphique des collections, in Grande Galerie - Le Journal du Louvre, La Recherche au musée du Louvre - 2017 - Hors série  : Sur le bord de la coupe sont associés des vers arabes d'un poète iranien du X e siècle ( ibn 'Abbad) et leur traduction en persan par un poète mystique du XIIIe siècle (Shahryar Hamadan 'Araqi). D'une manière typique, ces vers font référence à la nature et à l'image de l'objet, en l’occurrence une couoe à vin, et recèlent par ailleurs une résonance mystique
