Captions:
Hardwood of Santiago del Estero in the old-time oxcart made entirely of wood. The crooked wood is characteristic of the monte. It si hard and makes excellent fuel. This wood is an important product of Santiago.

The monte in northern Córdoba. This is the sort of scrub, rising to occasional low trees, that surrounds the Pampa. Between the bushes and trees there is much bare ground, with very thin wiry grass.
