Description
Español: Crátera de volutas con monumento para un guerrero muerto. Taller del Pintor de Baltimore.

Cara A: guerrero y un efebo en un naiskos rodeado de oferentes. El naiskos está formado por dos columnas jónicas que sostienen un arquitrabe y un frontón triangular. Sus ángulos están rematados con tres acróteras en forma de palmetas. El naiskos está sobre un podio decorado con roleos. En su interior está el difunto, un guerrero sentado revestido con sus armas: casco corintio, espada, lanza y escudo redondo que está a sus pies. Frente a él, otro joven guerrero con similar panoplia. A los lados del templete hay cuatro figuras, un hombre desnudo, dos mujeres y Eros. Los mortales llevan en sus manos espejos y ramas o guirnaldas vegetales. En el cuello de la pieza hay una sirena tañendo una cítara. Eros y un cisne revolotean a su alrededor entre la decoración vegetal. Los medallones de las volutas están decorados con rostros femeninos.

Altura: 94 cm; anchura: 55 cm; profundidad: 45 cm; diámetro boca: 43,50 cm. 340-320 a. C. Lugar de producción: Apulia. Nº Inv. 1998/92/1. Museo Arqueológico Nacional de España.
