Summary

[edit]
Description There were isolated cracks in the panel at the keyway after the highway was opened to traffic during the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Virginia DOT to demonstrate the use of precast concrete pavement system (PCPS) technology to replace concrete slabs on a section of I-66. This can be seen here and was typically observed when the top of the keyway was resting on the lower slab.
