Giant statue of old fashioned crank telephone in Bryant Pond, Maine

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bryant Pond, Maine, USA had a crank telephone system with every call connected by hand by operators until 1983. It was the last hand cranked telephone/operator connected system in the United States. When the system was replaced by a more modern land line system, a monument in the form of a giant telephone was erected to commemorate it, and is located in a small town park by the state road, Rt. 26, in Bryant Pond.
