| Description |
English: On July 7, 2008, a Kalitta Air Boeing 747-200 freighter crashed during a forced landing shortly after takeoff from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia. There were no fatalities and several serious injuries among the eight people on board, and the airplane was destroyed. The NTSB sent an accredited representative and powerplants, systems, operations, and human factors specialists to assist the Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil of Colombia with its investigation. Technical advisors from the FAA, Boeing Aircraft Company, and Pratt & Whitney also assisted. |
