Description
English: Cannonball of the Crimean War memorial in Lauttasaari. The grave of private Josef Israelsson Back from the first company of Finnish Grenadier Rifle battalion, killed during the bombardment of Viapori. The cannon ball has a swedish engraving "Stupad vid försvaret af denna ö å Mörtnäsudde den 9. augusti 1855. Frid me hans stoft." (Killed while defending this island at Särkiniemi on 9th of August 1855. Peace with his dust.)
Suomi: Tykinkuula Krimin sodan muistomerkissä Lauttasaaressa. Sotamies Josef Israelsson Back Suomalaisen Krenatööritarkk'ampujapataljoonan ensimmäisestä komppaniasta, kaatui Viaporin pommituksessa. Tykinkuulaan on kaiverrettu ruotsinkielinen teksti "Stupad vid försvaret af denna ö å Mörtnäsudde den 9. augusti 1855. Frid me hans stoft." (Kaatunut tämän saaren puolustuksessa Särkiniemessä 9. elokuuta 1855. Rauha hänen tomulleen.)
