Description
Српски / srpski: Turski tefteri iz 15. i iz 16. veka pominju selo Godovik danas smešteno na Bogom obdarenoj prostornoj celini na 7 - 8 km.od Požege. Naziv Godovik nose selo, manastir i reka, i postoji više verzija o nastanku tog imena. Po jednoj ono znači godovanje - zborovanje po tome što i danas stoji toponim "pijac" za prostor pod manastirskom crkvom gde su se po predanju ne retko okupljali dubrovački trgovci prodajući so,ali i održavali godeti - slavlja i zborovi. U stvari znamo da je to duboko ukorenjen i stari naziv koji označava i može se odnositi i na vreme za molitvu, skupljanje i zborovanje.
