Description
English: The effect of soil acidity on different crop species. Visible crops include (from back) sugar cane, cowpea, maize, soyabean and dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). The soil is highly weathered and naturally acid with a soil pH (salt solution) of 3.79, pH (water) of 3.84, and acid saturation 75%. This was prepared as a field demonstration for the 5th International Symposium on Soil Plant Interactions at Low pH (2001).
