Description Heraldic escutcheon within chaplet, left side of 17th.c. overmantle, Hudscott House, Chittlehampton, Devon, showing arms of unknown family, possibly Venner of Rose Ash (Andrews, Rev. J.H.B., (Vicar of Chittlehampton & Prebendary of Exeter Cathedral), Chittlehampton Parish Magazine, no.128, January 1958): Sable, a cross argent voided gules between four eagles with two heads displayed of the second. Compare with arms of Abbott of Hartland.
