Summary[edit]

Description
English: An image of the Canadian Cross of Sacrifice at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, in the United States. Canadian Prime Minister MacKenzie King proposed this memorial to honor the large number of American citizens who enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and died in World War I. President Calvin Coolidge approved the request on June 12, 1925, and it was dedicated on November 11, 1927. The memorial was designed by British architect Sir Reginald Bloomfield, and consists of a bronze sword on a 24-foot-high gray granite cross. Inscriptions honoring Americans who fought in the Canadian Armed Forces in World War II and the Korean War were added later.
