Located up a half flight of stairs from the lobby, the Crystal Ballroom remains largely unchanged in the 21st century from its heyday of the 1920's. It had one of the three hardwood floors in the entire hotel and was the scene of many dances and conferences. Four sparkling chandeliers of Austrian cut crystal, hand-cut and hand-polished and weighing approximately 600 pounds apiece, gave the ballroom its name. 26 scounces draped with crystals decorated the walls. The 38x120-foot ballroom was dressed in French tints of blue and rose with its panels in relief designs composed of pastel colors.
