Description

Currie Stree showing Leigh Street and the empty corner where the demolished Wellington Hotel once stood. The building shown above is Julius Cohn - Leather Merchants. Julius Cohn began as a leather merchant in Hindley Street in 1899. As well as the building in Leigh Street he also owned a large factory in Torrensville. Mr Cohn was born in 1875 and learnt his trade in Holland. He manufactured harnesses and travelling ware.
