DDR trams and trolleybus, Dresden. c.1950 The DDR constitution was adopted 71 years ago today, October 7 1949. Linie 11 Bühlau – Coschütz [extended to Plauen in 1969, and 1995 to Zschertnitz] Kommunales Wirtschaftsunternehmen der Stadt Dresden (KWU) became a VEB , Volkseigener Betrieb on January 1 1951 The Obus in the background 15x , one of 12 Henschel N11 vehicles, may be on route C across the Blaues Wunder Bruecke, which took over the former tram extension to Weißig in 1950 as a single track trolley route, which had been served by tram route 11 until early 1949 until the rails were taken away. The Schumann trailer still clearly bears the 1949 10x series number - these initial 15, 101-15 were renumbered 201-14. Perhaps one was withdrawn or scapped reducing the number to 14.
