Object history |
English: The arms were granted in 1955. The division in gules and Argent fesses is derived from the arms of the Lords of Hövel, the upper fess Argent shows two beechnuts as a symbol of Bockum (from Buchenheim, "Buche" is beech). The base shows mining tools, symbolising the importance of mining for the city. |
