Blasonierung
„Das Wappen der Gemeinde Lathen zeigt in grünem Feld einen silbernen Brunnen mit zwei seitlichen Säulen. Zwischen den Säulen hängt ein dreispeichiges Rad mit silbernem Brunnenseil. An den Säulen hängen zwei Schildchen, vorn, von Rot und Gold geteilt, hinten, ein roter Balken in goldenem Feld. Der Wellenbalken im Schildfuß stellt die Ems dar.“[1]
