Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Nienberge, seit 1975 Stadtteil von Münster (Westfalen): „Ein silberner (weißer) Schild, gespalten, vorn ein linksschräger blauer Balken, belegt mit drei goldenen (gelben) Jagdhörnern; hinten drei waagerechte rote Balken, darüber aus einem grünen Dreiberg wachsend, ein silberner (weißer) Kirchturm mit drei Fenstern (2:1), Spitzdach und schwarzem Kreuz.“ Der vordere Teil des Wappens basiert vermutlich auf dem Wappen der Herren von Nienberge, der hintere ist zum Teil "redend" (Dreiberg - (Nien) -berge), darauf der Turm der im 12. Jahrhundert erbauten St. Sebastian Kirche, dahinter die roten Balken der Herren von Schonebeck. 1282 verkaufte Dietrich v. Schonebeck die Freigrafschaft über das Kirchspiel Nienberge an den Münsterschen Bischof Everhard.
English: „Party per pale shield Argent, ahead a bend sinister azure coated with three hunting horns Or and rear three horizontal fesses gules thereupon rising out of a triple mountain vert, a church tower Argent with three windows (2:1), pitched roof and a cross sable.“ The part ahead based propably on the arms of the Lords of Nienberge and the rear is partly canting (triple mountain - (Nien) -berge), there upon the tower of the in the 12th century built St. Sebastian church, behind it the bars from the arms of the Schonebeck family. 1282 selled Dietrich v. Schonebeck the free county (Freigrafschaft) about the parish of Nienberge to the Bishop of Münster, Everhard.
