Description
English: Animation of a new client connecting to another peer sharing the same data.

Nodes:

  • Grey is a bootstrap node, does not share any data.
  • Green did not find any peers via DHT yet.
  • Yellow nodes have found peers and are exchanging data.

Edges:

  • Grey Edges are DHT Connections, which can be used to ask for further peers for other files.
  • Black Edges are classic BitTorrent connections, capable of transferring parts of files.

Phases:

  • 0: A DHT network is existent.
  • 1: A new client joins in.
  • 2: The new client connects to the bootstrap node.
  • 3: Via the bootstrap node the new client connects to some other peers.
  • 4: Via one of the other peers the new client finds a peer for his file.
