The Peace Tower, also known as the Tower of Victory and Peace is a bell and clock tower, in the central of the Centre Block of the parliament buildings. It is a Canadian icon and was featured on the Canadian twenty-dollar bill. Parliament Hill on the southern banks of the Ottawa River in downtown Ottawa. It is the home of the Parliament of Canada. Parliament Hill attracts approximately 3 million visitors each year. Originally it was the site of a military base in the 18th and early 19th centuries. |
