Description

Dampierre-en-Crot (Cher).

Célèbre en Pays-Fort*, l'ancienne auberge du "Haut du Bourg", date de la fin du XVIIe siècle (1690-1695). Elle a été restaurée à partir de 2003 par deux familles parisiennes. C'était un "Relais de Poste" situé à un croisement.

Au XIXème siècle et début XXème, la diligence signale sur son horaire un arrêt de 20 minutes dans cet ancien relais de poste afin d’abreuver et de reposer les chevaux.

Sur la façade, on peut lire l'inscription : « Ici on loge à pied et à cheval bon vin bon logis café et eau de vie ». L'enseigne a été restaurée par un ébéniste de Sury-ès-Boiset réinstallée en 2006.
