Summary

[edit]
Description Pretty camp, Rocky Mountains, graphite, ink, and crayon on paper. Drawing shows three wagons and a tent, left center, near a bend in the river before the Rocky Mountains. The camp is hidden from the trail, which crosses the river, by a copse of trees. Jenks arrived at Camp 57, writing in his diary, "We have called [it] the Pretty Camp, knowning no other name for it." They spent two nights here, June 4-5, 1859 to permit members of their party to keep the sabbath.
