Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is an oil painting of Darnick Tower, near Melrose, by the Scottish sculptor Andrew Currie (1812-1891). Currie's sculpture work includes the figure of James Hogg near St Mary's Loch, Robert the Bruce at Stirling Castle, and 'Old Mortality' on the Scott Monument in Edinburgh. He made his studio in the grounds of Darnick Tower, close to Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott, with whom he was acquainted as a child.
