English: Bridge ornament at the Rijnspoorplein bridge in Amsterdam. Referring to the former trainstation Weesperpoort. The design was by Piet Kramer in 1941 and it was made by Hildo Krop. The sculpture conmemmorates the first steam locomotive ("d'Arend", 1839), the first electric locomotive (1908), and the first diesel locomotive (1934) in the Netherlands. |
