Português: O Símbolo de Marca Registrada no Brasil (®) é representado por uma letra “R” maiúscula dentro de um círculo.
Em inglês, esse símbolo é representado pelas letras "TM" maiúsculas (™), as quais significam Trade Mark (marca comercial, em inglês). Por esse motivo, de forma semelhante, no nosso país, também é utilizado o símbolo que corresponde às letras “MR” maiúsculas (MR), abreviação de “marca registrada”. Esses símbolos são utilizados para indicar a propriedade intelectual. O símbolo de marca registrada protege nomes e logotipos de empresas de acordo com a sua atividade econômica, mostrando que elas têm exclusividade sobre produtos e serviços prestados por elas. No Brasil, os registros das marcas são pagos e devem ser feitos no INPI (Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial), que é o órgão que regula a propriedade industrial no Brasil. Há também o Copyright (©). Esse símbolo representado por uma letra “C” maiúscula dentro de um círculo significa que determinados textos ou imagens têm direitos de autor, ou seja, sua reprodução deve ser autorizada por ele. A letra “P” maiúscula dentro de um círculo (℗), por sua vez, protege os direitos de som. O "SM" (℠), abreviação de Service Mark, é um símbolo que acompanha o nome de uma empresa ou de um prestador de serviço.
