| Description |
Deutsch: Der „Rhäden bei Obersuhl und Bosserode“ liegt in den Gemarkungen Obersuhl und Bosserode der Gemeinde Wildeck im nordosthessischen Landkreis Hersfeld-Rotenburg. Auslaugungen von Kalisalzen aus dem, aus marinen Sedimenten entstandenem Zechsteinund tektonische Vorgänge haben zu einem schrittweisen Nachsacken des Untergrunds geführt. Die einstige Sumpflandschaft wurde ab der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts trockengelegt und bis in die Nachkriegszeit bearbeitet. Mit dem Ausbau der DDR-Grenzanlagen verfiel das Entwässerungssystem, was zur Aufgabe der landwirtschaftlichen Nutzung führte. In den 1970er Jahren begannen Naturschützer mit den Arbeiten zur Rückführung des Rhädens zu einem Feuchtbiotop, um den in ihrem Bestand bedrohten Pflanzen- und Tierarten einen angemessenen Lebensraum zu sichern. Nach abgeschlossener Rekultivierung war (wieder) eine Auenlandschaft entstanden, die vor allem für Vogelarten als Brut-, Nahrungs- und Rastgebiet überregionale Bedeutung besitzt. |
