Summary
[edit]DescriptionDerelict fishing gear cleanup in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (7656574556).jpg |
Marine debris can travel far distances from its source. The seemingly remote Northwest Hawaiian Islands are an area of marine debris accumulation. Each year, volunteers conduct a large-scale marine debris cleanup in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands to remove some of this debris. For more information about marine debris and how it can be prevented, visit the NOAA Marine Debris Program website. Credit: NOAA PIFSC CRED |
