Description
Français : Maths et philo, ça creuse. Le menu parait indigeste, mais certain(e)s aiment...

La rivière, une dizaine de km avant sa confluence avec la Vienne, forme ici limite départementale. Autrement dit, elle sépare aussi la région Centre de sa voisine méridionale Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Descartes, 3 600 hab., autrefois La Haye, vit dans le souvenir de son célèbre érudit, mort à Stockholm en 1650.

Sur le plan économique, la renommée de la cité est assurée par l'industrie papetière depuis le mi-XIXe, aujourd'hui incarnée par l'allemand Palm, dont la cartonnerie produit plus de 200 000 t/an. (l'usine est sur la gauche, jouxtant l'ancien moulin visible à l'image)
