Esta foto participó en Otro lugar de flickr La 'Puerta del Perdón' de la iglesia de Santiago de Villafranca del Bierzo, es la única desde la que se puede ganar el Jubileo sin llegar a Santiago de Compostela. La apertura de la ‘Puerta del Perdón’ de la iglesia de Santiago en Villafranca del Bierzo se remonta al año 1600. Según la tradición, los peregrinos podrán ganar la indulgencia plenaria en el templo si habiendo recorrido entre 100 y 150 kilómetros, no pueden llegar a la Basílica de Santiago por encontrarse enfermos, o sufrir una incapacidad física o accidente surgido en el transcurso de su caminar. Una vez presentado el correspondiente certificado médico, recibir confesión, comunión y orar por las intenciones del Papa, se les abrirá la Puerta Santa exclusivamente para ellos. En 2004, último Año Santo, únicamente cruzaron por ella cuatro personas que habían sufrido un pequeño accidente, mientras que en 1999, fueron seis los peregrinos que ganaron la indulgencia plenaria. La ‘Puerta del Perdón’ permaneció tapiada durante más de cien años, hasta que en 1948 se tiró el muro que la cubría y se restauró. En el año 1986, la Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias y Caballeros de Santiago abrió la puerta a las doce de la noche, que es la hora precisa, aunque en años posteriores se ha venido celebrando a las cinco de la tarde para facilitar la participación de todos cuantos deseen asistir al acto. Este año, ha vuelto a modificarse el horario, al preferir un horario matinal que no se solapase con la apertura de la ‘Puerta del Perdón’ de la Basílica de Santiago de Compostela. El Año Santo Compostelano empezó en el siglo XII, en el año 1122, con el Papa Calixto II. Desde entonces, ha habido 119 celebraciones jubilares. Año Santo Jacobeo es cuando el 25 de julio, fiesta del martirio del Apóstol Santiago, coincida en domingo. |
