Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Maison de la culture Maisonneuve, 4200 Rue Ontario E, Montréal, QC H1V 1K1. Description de l’œuvre : Réalisée en 2019, cette sculpture se compose d’un banc public sur lequel repose un dodécaèdre, objet à 12 faces qu’on appelle en mathématique un solide de Platon. Solidement imbriquée dans le banc, la forme représente le savoir, l’intelligence et la connaissance. Les passants sont invités à expérimenter l’œuvre en allant s’assoir sur ce mobilier urbain qui incite à la réflexion. Biographie : Né à Saint-Hyacinthe en 1978, Guillaume La Brie vit et travaille à Montréal. À travers la création de sculptures où les stratégies de mise en espace prennent une place prépondérante, il cherche principalement à allier les notions de lieu, d’objet et d’expérience de l’œuvre. Finaliste pour le prix Pierre-Ayot en 2012, son travail a souvent été appuyé par le Conseil des Arts et lettres du Québec ainsi que le Conseil des arts du Canada.
