Summary

[edit]
Description

The tug boat is a miniature version of the big tugs that go out to get the tankers outside of Portsmouth Harbor. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the background.

Climb aboard TUG ALLEY TOO, a 38-foot working tug docked opposite the Moran tugboats, for a cruise on the Piscataqua River. The tug was built in1966 to deliver live lobsters to several islands off the Maine coast. Throughout its work life, the tug assisted with construction and rescue operations and was also used to tow the historic Gundalow from Strawbery Banke to various viewing sites. Named 2006 Editors' Choice in Yankee Magazine's Travel Guide to New England as well as being featured in the Boston Globe Getaway Guide, TUG ALLEY TOO can accommodate six passengers accompanied by our captain and a crew/tour person. The tug is available by individual reservations or by charter. Bring a picnic or we can supply one. Whether your interest is history, lighthouses or tugboats, Portsmouth Harbor and the Piscataqua River offer something to entice you. (603) 430-9556
