Description

Model of a rat being disected, part of a display at the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences. It's one of the museum's top ten attractions, and had the following description:

"Graduates and senior students from the Hong Kong College of Medicine were employed as assistants to the Government Bacteriologist between 19020and 1912. Their main duty was the examination of rats at the public mortuary and at the Bacteriological Institute for evidence of plague infection, in order to help control and prevention of the disease among the community."
